It could get really soggy
Take a look at all the features that will be impacting South Florida over the next few days.
- Low pressure ( Developing in the eastern Gulf of Mexico )
- Warm front ( Over the Straits )
- Tropical Moisture ( Coming up front the Caribbean Sea )
- Cold front ( Making its way through the Plains )
On the surface map to the right:You can see a swath of green moving over the straits into South Florida.
All that rain is being pushed along by a developing low in the Gulf and an attached warm front.
The blue line with triangles over Texas is a cold front making a push towards our area.
Most of our rain during the next 2 days will have a Caribbean Connection

This next image: Has most of the moisture colorized and it shows plenty of rain moving from Central America, through Cuba and into South Florida.
This Caribbean Connection will provide a pipeline of moisture for another 48 hours.
Potential for Heavy Rain
This is what the local weather office is saying:
HEAVY RAINFALL POTENTIAL NEXT FEW DAYS OVER SOUTH FLORIDA...
EXPECT RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF TWO TO FOUR INCHES WITH UP TO 5 INCHES POSSIBLE FROM LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON. THIS COULD CAUSE FLOODING IN LOW LYING AREAS AND FLOOD PRONE AREAS.
But that's not all !
Notice the sat image below. You will see a coma shape pattern over the nation's mid section, that's an area of low pressure. The line of clouds extending out from the low to Texas is a cold front that is forecast to move over us during the weekend. As it gets closer it will help to fire up more t-storms.
Once the front clears South Florida, our temps will be very mild with very little humidity and mostly dry skies. Expect highs in the low 80's and lows in the 60's.
