Where's Paloma?
NOW:So far Paloma is doing what had been forecast, but from here on out, trying to tell where it will go will get tricky. What's steering Paloma, is the wind associated with a front. This front will push the system toward the Bahamas at least for one more day and then fall apart. The very strong upper level winds ahead of the front are shearing Paloma and weakening it.On Saturday, it was a Cat 4, today its down to a tropical storm. It's interaction with the Cuban land mass is also playing a key role in its deterioration .
FORECAST: From here on out Paloma should get weaker as it drifts northeast. This means some more rain and wind for Cuba and then the Bahamas. On Tuesday, high pressure at the surface is expect to develop near Florida. The wind will come off the ocean and so there is a possibility that whatever is left of Paloma will get dragged back in our direction.
The models are all in disagreement (sorry I couldn't post the model run-had some technical issues ) With this in mind, it's a good possibility we could see some tropical rain in So Fla this week.
