Incredible

It was an interesting day at the WSVN weather office. First, we started with computer problems as our system was dieing a slow death. We needed to back up the hard drive as we waited for a new unit to arrive. As we were feverishly doing this before our 4 o'clock news, files began to disappear and whole animations and data plots were playing hide and go seek.

Then, the news broke of a possible 6 year old child afloat by himself inside a hot air balloon over Denver, Colorado. News needed us to provide weather conditions over the area and how it would or would not affect the situation.

So there we were on the air with only a few graphics for use, a limping computer, and no time to prep for the regular weather presentations.

On top of that, Key West broke their record high temp, Miami Tied... and it appeared we would see another scorcher before cooler air would arrive.

The entire staff worked incredibly hard (Vivian) to back up the old system. (Vivian) Patch us over to a drone (Vivian) and keep me with graphics on the air (Vivian). Without the staff pitching in, you might have just seen me with a piece of paper and some crayons.

Ahhh Live TV, you gotta love it! (Is my high blood pressure prescription ready?)
