Deco Features: Lynn Interviews President Obama
Hey, guess what I did a few days ago? I interviewed the President of the United States in the map room of the White House, and boy oh boy, they don't call me a correspondent for nothing. This is the President's reaction when he found out a goober was going to interview him.
This is me being a goober, I'm so nervous I forgot how to put on a mic, instead of easily clipping it to my lapel, I grope myself and bring it up under my bra.
Lynn: "I happen to be here on vacation with my family."
Obama: "And they put you to work?
Lynn: "I had this great opportunity."
Notice the mic I'm reaching into my chest in front of the President of the United States then comes the first question:
Lynn: "As you prepare for your first trip, your first trip as president to Brazil, how will this latin american trip affect the people of South Florida?"
If there was a paper bag around I would have breathed into it. I'm so nervous and sucking in so much air my chest is going up and down like a hopping rabbit.
I ask a few other important questions, blah blah blah then comes the end.
Lynn: "Thank you Mr. President."
Obama: "Thank you."
Convinced I need a souvenir I ask the president if I can take the Presidential napkin sitting next to me. He says yes, I get up and forget to take off my mic, napkin drops and I'm a dork.
Obviously, I'm new to the business. Go back, sit down, take off the mic, get up, bend down and don't forget that napkin, and run away knowing I'll never be in the press corp.
