Just because a show puts Miami in the title and shoots a causeway and a couple palm trees, doesn't make it authentic. Here that caruso no we love shows that are set in Miami and shot in Miami. Because LA is not Miami and the Glades is defintely way better than CSI.
Oh, doctor Carlos Gomez is back as forensic medical examiner, Carlos Sanchez on the third season of "The Glades."
The crime drama is shot in South Florida Deco asked the Miami man what working here brings to a show.
CARLOS GOMEZ: "It brings a lot of heat and it brings a lot of sweat marks on your clothes is what it brings."
All dampness aside, filming on the streets of so-flo makes "The Glades" that much more authentic.
CARLOS GOMEZ: "Florida really becomes an extra character in the show we're always on location so it gives the audience a sense that you know we're not like CSI that shoots in l-a and calls itself miami we're actually here shooting and you could tell."
Season 3 bro-mance between Carlos' character and detective Jim Longworth, played by Aussie actor Matt passmore. Matt thinks filming here contributes big-time to the show's vibe.
MATT PASSSMORE: "So you know it's really dark subject matter it's murder and all that sort-of stuff even with Florida you know you scratch florida's surface and it is a bit murky underneath you know there's a swamp down there."
The residents of so-flo got big props as well.
CARLOS GOMEZ: "The people of florida have been very welcoming to the show we have a huge audience base here."
You can't blame Carlos for believing he was born to play doctor Sanchez they have more than a first name in common.
CARLOS GOMEZ: "I'm cuban I was raised here in Miami so I know what the Cuban americans are like you know when they wrote the character and I read this i just felt like "this is written for me."
Homeboy is happy to have exposed his co-star to a local tradition...
CARLOS GOMEZ: "I've taken matt salsa dancing a few times for an australian that's quite a feat,"
Speaking of feet, matt admits his didn't work so well on the dance floor.
MATT PASSMORE: "I don't think i will be the salsa champion of Fort Lauderdale anytime soon."
