Deco Features: Frenchie Davis
Frenchie Davis long-time "American Idol" fans will remember that name Frenchie was a semi-finalist way back in season two when people with names like Randy, Paula and Simon were the judges. We played catch-up with her at the Hard Rock pool. But before that, here's a look back at her on Idol.
Frenchie's putting the finishing touches on her debut album. It's been a long time coming, but she never stopped singing.
FRENCHIE DAVIS: "Right after Idol I spent five years doing Broadway you know eight shows a week when that's your schedule it's easy for the years to just go by."
Working on the great white way was a dream of Frenchie's taking on the record business not so much.
FRENCHIE DAVIS: "You know the recording industry's a little bit different and I think there might have been a part of me that was afraid to really try 'cause if I didn't try then I didn't have to worry about failing."
Davis conquered her fear. Now she's ready to drop her sound on a waiting world.
FRENCHIE DAVIS: "I tried to incorporate all of my influences into this album I wanted to do dance music."
If things go the way she plans, the days of the disco diva are back.
FRENCHIE DAVIS: "I wanted to take it back to like the Martha wash Jocelyn brown cece peensiton you know Gloria Gaynor, Donna Summer days where you expected to hear a big powerful voice on the dancefloor."
Frenchie hasn't lost touch with her pals from her Idol days.
FRENCHIE DAVIS: "I mean I've kept up with all the good people 'cause we all eventually end up crossing paths professionally anyway I've kept up with all the really talented singers from the show."
Frenchie's a California girl but there's Something about so-flo that makes her want to get wet.
FRENCHIE DAVIS: "It reminds me of California, but sometimes it's even more beautiful like i get in the water in florida maybe not so much in LA you know."
