It was a gray day in Miami today not weather wise. Macy Gray's in town and we caught up with her last night before her gig at the Arsht Center we talked music and movies.
Macy Gray stars alongside Matthew Mcconaughey, Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron in "The Paperboy" working with such big names brought out her best.
MACY GRAY: "It was actually good for me 'cause you know I didn't want to be the one on the set you know that gave the worst performance so i worked really hard on it."
Ms. Gray got pretty chummy with Mr. Efron.
MACY GRAY: "He was actually my friend on set like we actually hung out quite a bit haha he's a sweet guy though."
Acting's great, but music will always be Macy's first love she's taken the concept of a cover song album and turned it on its ear her latest release is a complete re-making of stevie wonder's 1972 masterpiece, talking book.
MACY GRAY: "Talking book was just a record I knew inside and out and that I really love and stevie of course has been very important and influential in my career so."
The wonder man was totally cool with Macy's move.
MACY GRAY: "You know he wrote me this really sweet text about how of a blessing it was and how he couldn't believe I took time out to do a record in his honor and stuff like that."
