Deco Features: Gangster Squad
"Gangster Squad" is all about Ryan Gosling looking sexy and handling his "sidearm." almost: It's the real story of a small band of cops taking down legendary mobster Mickey Cohen. And Ryan told Deco how Josh Brolin outguns him on the big screen.
He assembles a band of l.A.P.D. Misfits into a "Gangster Squad."
It's based on real life events...
JOSH BROLIN: "My father used to open the back door of Slapsie Maxie's looking for Mickey Cohen because he and his friends knew all about Mickey Cohen and they were kind of fascinated by the mob scene I think like everybody was."
The squad's off the books...No names...No badges...No mercy
Ryan gosling's one of the gunslingers.
RYAN GOSLING: "It was kind of a dream to get to disappear into that time."
Not so hot...His draw of the weapons.
RYAN GOSLING: "I was a little disappointed because I thought if you're gonna do a gangster movie it's a shoe in that you get a Tommy gun. Not the case."
RYAN GOSLING: "I got to the set and everyone had to have a different gun. So Josh got the Tommy gun and I got the lady gun."
Each member was locked and loaded.
The squad agrees...Ryan's gun was a bit girly.
More important than size...Is how he handles it.
