Deco Features: Bass Museum of Art Happy Hour
We here at Deco are becoming very cultured, like bacteria. From the opera to a night at the museums. Only this is no Ben Stiller movie. This is for real. You might be surprised to learn two of SoBe's hottest parties are not in da clubs, but in the museums.
Wes Pierce: "It's become the best happy hour on the beach."
The first Friday of every month from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. the Bass Museum of Art hosts, "Beats after Sunset." A happy hour inside the museum where you can get cocktail and your culture on.
MELISSA BROWN: "So we have some dancing drinking networking some really fun interaction happening and a young crown- this even is geared toward 20 40ish just got in under the bell"
$10 gets you in the door. Drinks are free and so is the inspiration.
RAYMOND LINARES: "Its a nice juncture where beautiful people listen to good music. Experience the art. We whispering because we're in an art gallery. We were screaming downstairs, but up here everybody's respecting the space."
EFOFELE DIONISOPOULOS: "You don't come to a museum to have a few drinks and have a good time...its like beautiful."
10 blocks away on Washington, the Wolsonian Museum has a happy happy hour every Friday night.
"I often come here and I think it's one of the best institutions in Miami."
Guided tours take you through the Wolsonians amazing Propaganda Art and Design collection, but the party is down stairs at the newly opened Pan Pan Cafe right inside the Museum gift shop and book store. How cool is this?
Michelle Areces: "The concept is introducing the locals to what the museum offers."
Foodies rave and winos love the art.
DOUGLAS SCOTT: "A little bit of fun chillin out having good food and good wine and I think there are a lot of people looking for that in Miami."
The food is outrageous. From the sausage and peppers pinchos, the gnocchi a la mama, the truffled pollenta and the oh my gaugin ravioli
Michelle Areces: "Butter nut squash ravioli with roasted porchinni mushrooms the goat cheese and the greens."
And a most fun night at the museums.
