Deco Features: HipPop's Dessert Bar
Summer's here and the time is right for eating in the street. If you're looking for a new way to beat the heat, I'm not talking to you San Antonio. Make it up to Arts Park in Hollywood. Wrap your lips around a HipPops Dessert Bar. A slice of frozen heaven on a stick.
TONY FELLOWS: "We're talking about handcrafted gelato and sorbet on a stick. They're handcrafted in small batches every day 26 bars at a time. Just using a handful of all-natural high quality ingredients and then you're able to customize them with different dips and topping."
Tony's put lots of time and thought into making his product top-notch.
TONY FELLOWS: "We have a micro-creamery where our popologists work every day. We've got really a library of about 100 flavors that I kinda came up with."
About a quarter of those flavors make the cut every day with all that variety. It's easy to keep coming back for something new.
TONY FELLOWS: With our 20-25 flavors on the truck, on a daily basis a customer will never get bored there's always so many different combinations from the flavors to the dips to the toppings."
Here's a taste of what you can taste at the hip pops truck.
TONY FELLOWS: "Wanilla bean which is our number one seller. We have a Belgian chocolate. We have our pistachio. We have hazelnut. We have a new flavor for the summer, all-American, which is a really delicious Oreo cookie."
You can choose between three different chocolate dips and top your pop off with various kinds of ultra-fresh toppings. This ain't your grandma's ice cream bar.
TONY FELLOWS: "You're not seeing the same old same old with the gummy bears and M&M's and the peanuts."
Tony took us inside the truck to personally make one his specialties, the hot tamale. He says it reminds him of Deco Drive cause it's cool, sweet and spicy.
TONY FELLOWS: "It's a Mexican chocolate chipoltle gelato bar, half-dipped in semi-sweet chocolate and then encrusted in caramelized pecans. It's out of this world."
Oh, yeah, we'll take a dozen. As far as Tony's concerned, when it comes to the best way to cool down in SoFlo, Hip-Pops can represent.
TONY FELLOWS: "We're a brand that's launched in South Florida and really it's the perfect brand. Look at our colors look at our web page, that's who we are."
