New on DVD: Stone and more
Archived Reports:
One more big score a cautious love affair and Edward Norton plays mind games three very different. New releases are out with one thing in common...they're all worthy of your attention. Watch and enjoy.
Edward Norton and Robert Deniro go shot-for-shot in "Stone." It's like watching two heavyweight fighters slug it out for 12 rounds. Eddie's a jailbird who may or may not have undergone a spiritual awakening. Bobby's the retiring parole officer who may or may not be his unwilling pawn.
Why do thieves always want to pull off one last big job before they call it quits? So we can watch movies like "Takers," that's why. This is a classic caper film with all the car chases, crashes and shoot-outs the genre requires.
How do two quiet and cautious people fall in love? Personally, I couldn't tell you but after watching "Jack Goes Boating" i have a pretty good idea Phillip Seymour Hoffman directed and stars in this little movie. What it lacks in bells and whistles, it more than makes up for with solid performances.
That's a wrap for this week's new releases.
