Shireen on the Scene: The Perks of Being a Wallflower
If you wanna laugh, cry and slap the person next to you, keep watching Deco or go see "The Perks of Being a Wallflower." We sent Deco's thorny rose Shireen Sandoval to talk to Emma Watson, who stars in the movie. They bonded, but no slapping was involved.
The story, based on a popular book, is about a high school student (Charlie, an aspiring writer) struggling to grow up.
The movie is soulful, funny, even gripping. It's about dealing with the past and being present.
Highlights include a very brave Emma Watson hanging out of a truck doing her best "Titanic" thru a tunnel.
Shireen: "Were you not going to do it at first?
Emma: "They didn't want me to do it at first."
Director: "I always did for the record"
Emma: "The stunt team was not feeling good about that."
But the Harry Potter graduate wanted to go for it.
Emma: "I really really wanted to do it. I wanted the full, entire experience. I felt so free hard to explain it felt awesome."
I loved the cast. Emma, Logan Lerman, and Ezra Miller who grew close in real life while filming in Pittsburgh.
Shireen: "Your castmates said everyone was quiet bonded."
Emma: "Extremely bonded to the extent we all had a floor at the crown plaza, you know how hotel rooms have connecting doors?"
Emma: "We opened all the adjoining doors."
Shireen: "It's a party."
Emma: "And it turned into a commune."
They're especially hysterical in a re-enactment of the rocky horror picture show.
Shireen: "Did you have fun doing the rocky horror picture show?"
Emma: "I was half terrified and like half super excited."
Shireen: "You did NOT seem terrified, i was like you go girl."
Emma: "Thanks, it was just so much fun. I wore a boa and a corset and danced like Susan Surandon."
Learning the lessons of life. Ehhh, that kinda stinks.
But "The Perks Of Being A Wallflower" will make you wanna stop and smell the roses.
