Hold me close protect me at least that's what you'll say when you see the new movie "Sinister" or go on a date with Louis. Mr. Ethan Hawke stars as a writer trying to get to the bottom mysterious murder I caught up with Mr. Handsome himself in LA and believe you me this interview was a crime of passion.
It may not seem like it but the new, really disturbing movie Sinister starring Ethan Hawke, may be the perfect ticket to some Friday night nookie.
Shireen: "Do you remember the very first horror film you saw that stuck with you and why?
Ethan Hawke: "I learned the great value of a scary movie when I was a senior in high school, aliens came out."
Shireen: "Oh yeah, that's a good one."
Ethan Hawke: "And I really really liked this girl and we all went, a group of us and the whole movie she was just all over me. I thought, i LIKE scary movies."
Shireen: "Yes, this is the perfect date movie."
Ethan Hawke: "She loved me."
Ethan plays a crime writer trying to solve a gruesome family murder. Everything's going fine until he stumbles on some old home movies. Then everything goes cra cra!
Speaking of freaky deaky he shot the flick in a fast 23 days.
Shireen: "Is it something that's good because you're in character, or is it something that's crazy because you're getting it all done?"
ethan "it's so fun. It's hard in a supporting part because you have to fall in and out of the collective imagination of the movie."
Ethan Hawke: "What was great about this film is the entire crew just kind of took over the house and um, it became it's own, we were working nights it was delirious."
I really like ethan as an actor but i was curious why he took the gig?
Ethan Hawke: "My goal is when I come to being done with making movies, I want to make a film in all these different genres. I've done the cop genre, I've down science fiction, i've done romance.. it's fun to make different kinds of films."
So now, he can check horror off his movie hit list.. in the meatime:
Shireen: "What makes a horror movie work?"
Ethan Hawke: "Somehow it's to play on something that people are instinctively scared of, whatever it is, the fear of the water, the fear of the dark, or spirits."
From frightening to fright night. October 31st, we had a lil costume talk..
Ethan Hawke: "What's the worst one you've ever worn."
Shireen: "Gosh, no one asks the reporter the questions, my mother made me a pumpkin once."
Ethan Hawke: "OK that would be pretty bad."
Shireen: "It was, my head was here, and I saw well it was a big hat."
Shireen: "And the pumpkin was my butt."
Shireen: "It was just wrong on so many levels."
Ethan Hawke: "That's tough."
Shireen "yeah, it was bad."
Ethan Hawke: "That would be tough to recover from".
When all else fails..
Shireen: "You know I uh, I always liked going out as a vampire, that's always been my favorite go to costume."
I'll sink my teeth into that. So, does he solve the murder? If i told you, i'd have to kill you.
