All More Bang for Your Buck

Pregnant women know it doesn't take long before that belly starts to bulge and a new wardrobe becomes a neccessity. We found some easy ways to flatter your figure without flattening your bank account.

(WSVN) -- It's bad enough having to deal with morning sickness, but finding maternity clothes can make your stomach turn.

Expectant mother Bridget Dupont says, "It goes from one exterme to another, you go from having no belly to having this huge belly and your trying to find something that fits."

Bidget Dupont, a new mother-to-be, is already looking for a solution to the swelling.

She's been bargain hunting ever since she got the big news.

She says, "If you start ahead of time and take your time and make choices wisely and look at the sales here and there you can save alot of money."

As you might know I was in the same place a few months ago. But, there are ways to save when you start showing. You can begin in your husband's closet.

"I wear his T-shirts and he has some cotton shorts that are really comfortable to wear."

But what's comfortable now can become close-fitting later.

Candace Berkowitz of M&M Maternity says, "One of the biggest mistakes that pregnant women make especially on their first pregnancy is they dont believe they are going to get to the size they actually are going to get."

So if you want to be one hot mama, remember to keep it simple by stretching your wardrobe, not your budget.

"I would try to stay with the same color palette so you can really mix and match things."

Or you can look pregnant and perfect by pulling out the plastic online.

Bridgette says, "I went to Ebay and I bought a few things there. I paid about 40 dollars for 3 shirts a pair of leggings, 2 suit dresses and a pair of sweat pants which was a great deal."

An especially great deal considering Bridgette wants to keep her cash for what's to come.

She says, "I'm due between the 15th and 22nd of February... I'm having a boy."

Another way you can save is by trading with friends or go to your favorite stores and just buy larger sizes.
