Producer: Vacations are always hot gifts for the holidays, so if you're still looking for an affordable getaway, now is the time to book your trip! It's not too late to take that fantasy escape without breaking the bank. In tonight's more bang for your buck, lynn martinez shows us the top seven destinations for your dollar.

(WSVN) -- The Caribbean... Mexico... and Las Vegas.

They are all sensational spots you can go this season without losing a lot of this: $$$.

"If you can take a moment to book your winter vacation right now, says David Crooks of Vacation Outlet, "you can take advantage of a lot of terrific savings."

Travel agent David Crooks has found travel bargains that can have you packed and on your way in no time.

For instance this January, check out Puerto Vallarta on the west coast of Mexico for authentic Mexican flavor.

"They were hit by a hurricane a few years back," says David, "so they lost a lot of business, but all of the hotels are remodeled. They renovated, they're open for business, and they're hungry for business."

South of Cancun is where you'll find the Mayan Riviera. It's also another place you'll find hotels scrambling to get your business in January and early February.

Salsa not your style?

Head down to the caribbean and pay a visit to Puerto Rico.

David says, "If you book early, you can take advantage of free hotel room upgrades fourth or fifth night free, children stay free, free breakfast."

Another Caribbean destination sure to leave your wallet full -- the dominican republic.

"This is a really hot destination and for those willing to try something different, take a risk, I can guarantee you'll be really impressed," David says.

If you're willing to "gamble" on your travel, go to Las Vegas!

This U.S. hot spot always has great deals, but in February hotels are desperate to fill rooms

Travel mid-week and you can get to sin-city even cheaper.

But if long distance traveling is out of the question?

Try staying closer to home and go for a short drive to Orlando.

David says, "They're empty in January and February so the rates plummet-- beautiful deluxe first-class hotels are very inexpensive prices."

But why settle for just one vacation destination. Grab your sea legs and head out on a cruise.

"The average price of a cruise has plummeted about 30 percent over the past few years," David says. "You can go on a 7-night cruise to the southern Caribbean in January for as low as $299 per person."

Remember to buy traveler's insurance. You never know when you might need to cancel your trip.
