All More Bang for Your Buck

All parents learn soon enough. Having children can be very fulfilling and very expensive. But when it comes to decoratng your baby's room, there are ways to save without sacrificing quality. In tonight's more bang for your buck, we're going to show you how to find the right furniture at the right price.

WSVN -- Once upon a time there lived a beautiful maiden named judy and a handsome young man named andres.

They married....

And before long, the happy couple was expecting not one but two bundles of joy, little Jackie and little Kevin.

Judy: "We moved from a smaller house to a bigger size house. It was pretty empty."

Pretty empty until mom had to find furniture to fill the rooms.

And that's when this fairly tale took an unexpected twist.

Judy: "It was overwhelimng. I didnt know where to start."

But fortunately for our damsel in distress, furnishing a child's room doesn't have to cost thousands of dollars. Ed Wall of Baby Love says the way to save is to invest in furniture that will grow along with your child.

Ed: "Converting items nowadays, you definitely get a lot more out of your money."

When shopping for a baby, parent's can easily find a crib that will turn into a toddler bed and then convert into a full size bed.

Or how about instead of purchasing a changing table...consider this changing table and dresser unit.

Ed: "When you're done using it as a changing unit they flip upside again and you have a regular dresser."

Another way to save, choose furniture made of pine wood.

Ed: "Most companies are bringing in a pine product now because it's a very impressive looking product and it saves you a lot of money."

Also try to find a mattress that will adjust to your baby's needs.

Ed: "Manufactures now are making mattresses that are foam on one side, you flip to the other side and they are extra firm coils. So you are getting two in one."

Judy's lucky to have a couple of knights in shining armor. She and the boys plan to live happily everafter.

The kids even got to decorate their own rooms - thanks to a new store called Kreative 4 kids.

Judy: "I'm happy to see they run from school to their desk to start doing their homework or painting, drawing."

For parents starting out, if you are on a tight budget, consider getting a less expensive crib and a better mattress.
