With Thanksgiving just a week away, now's the time to plan that holiday vacation. And tonight we're counting down the seven most spectacular destinations and showing you how to get "More Bang for your Travel Buck."
WSVN-- From fireworks to fancy feasts, the holidays are always a prefect excuse to take a trip out of town.
Just ask the Halpryn family, it seems like they've been everywhere.
Sharon Halpryn: " We love to travel. It's fun to travel with your family."
But now they are shopping for their next big adventure. And they're timing couldn't be better.
Keith St.Clair: "From the 20th of November to the 18th of December, there are some spectacular offers in the market."
Keith St. Clair of Travel Leaders says if you want to unwrap a great getaway, there are seven top destinations.
Starting off our countdown - how about a long weekend in old Key West. If you book now, you can even go for just a few hundred dollars.
If you're looking for a big city, check out number six, the big easy. Flights are frequent and reasonable plus you can stay for three days and get a fourth night free.
At number five - "Viva Las Vegas." How about this deal -stay in a four star hotel for under $400 including air fare.
Keith: "I know the MGM Grand is offering $375 dollars for two nights including airfare out of Miami."
Want to hit the slopes - go to Canada. Right now, you can even get a seven-day trip for only $800 including air fare and lift tickets.
As for a less touristy trip, head to Europe. At number three, the weather's chilly but the savings are hot.
Keith:"It's the winter season there and by definition prices are cheaper."
There is also good fortune to be found in China. You can spend eight days for around $900.
Keith: "That whole destination is becoming an amazing resort experience and city expericence."
And the number one destination is... South America. From touring the Amazon to surfing in Peru, the American dollar is only gaining strength with one of the best exchange rates.
Keith: "Some of the traditional cities seem to be coming back quite strongly."
The Halpryn's are still looking for their next voyage. But wherever they land, they look forward to doing it together.
Sharon: "Being a family and making sure we are all in sync with each other is really important to me and my husband and to them."
When booking a trip, consider flying on the holiday. Many times flights are less full and the fares are cheaper.
