For every American Idol finalist, there are thousands of wannabes. But if you dream of the big stage, you don't have to hire a voice coach. In tonight's More Bang For Your Buck, we found a new computer program that could even get compliments from Simon Cowell.

WSVN--We've heard it time and time again.

American Idol has a way of bring out the best of the worst.

But if you want to sing your way to Hollywood, Vanessa Urrego knows the key to success is singing on key.

Vanessa Urrego: "I may be good now, but there are a lot of techniques that can make me better."

Vanessa's never tried out for Idol but she is releasing her first single.

One technique she used to get better was this computer program called "Singing Coach" created by Carry-A-Tune Technologies.

It's purpose is to help you hit the prefect pitch.

"I am going to help you determine your vocal range."

Micheal Marshall: "It's simliar to karaoke where you are seeing the words on screen and you're following it, but the program is teaching you how to sing on pitch and in tune."

When you start to a song, the blue boxes represent where the pitch should be.

The more you keep the white line in the blue box, the more in tune you are singing.

Then at the end, the score tells you how often you sang the note correctly.

Micheal Marshall: "You can sing an entire song really well but there is just that one part, you're not going high enough your not going low enough on a note and that will show you exactly where."

For one hundred dollars, the kit comes with a headset, microphone, 40 free songs, and 20 lessons used by professional voice teachers.

Vanessa Urrego: "It doesn't make it like a homework assignment. It's fun and you want to keep going and advance to the next level."

Vanessa's credits the singing coach with helping her.

She's now hoping her new single leads to stardom.

Vanessa Urrego: "It is imporant to have a guide because it lets you realize where you've gone wrong and the mistakes you're doing and how to improve your singing."
