All More Bang for Your Buck

With interest rates at a 30 year low, the south Florida real estate market is booming. But if you're not ready for a house, this is also the perfect time to rent.

(WSVN) Free breakfast delivered to your car as you head off to work.

No, your not dreamimg. It's the new trend in apartment renting.

Natalie Apollon, Cascade Apartments, says "Every month we do have customer care programs whether its a breakfast on the go or mothers day for example, giving phone cards for our residents, just little things we do like that."

Real Estate Researcher Jack Mccabe says the surge of people purchasing homes is forcing apartment communities to fight for new renters.

Jack McCabe, Meyers Group, says "It's definitely a tremendous advantage for those folks who are looking to rent right now because they are able to take advantage of opportunities that they havent had here in southeast florida in the past."

And those opportunities are plentiful.

"You can find everything from a month to 2 months free rent to no charges to move in or finding services where they bring drinks out to the pools."

Lawyer Jeff Baxter loves his new rental apartment.

It's a block from his office, surronded by shops and restaurants. Perfect for a busy batchelor.

Jeff, an apartment renter says,"There a luxury apartments and they've got the washer and dryers and security and the convenience of having everything right here, its really great."

His workouts are a bargain, too. Try an eight hundred dollar bargain.

Lewis Martinez, Graham Companies, says "We offer an incentive to our residents where they pay a one time fee of one hundred and fifty dollars to join the athletic club."

And with such tough competion for tenants, that's just the beginning.

Many complexes are upgrading their units with crown mouldings and fancy wood blinds.

While others are offering a country club atmosphere with tennis courts, pools and other ammenities.

"What we have focused in on is trying to make your apartment feel like a home."

And with all the development in this region, the best is yet to come.

"Because there are so many new apartment complexes still comimng online here in South Florida that the owership and mngt companies are going to have to continue these types of incentives to renters."
