Advice isn't cheap. And when it comes to legal advice, consultation alone can cost a fortune. But with a little extra cash, you can tip the scales of justice.

(WSVN) When trouble lurks, there's no guarantee Johnnie Cochran will be available.

Then again, not all of us can afford Johnnie Cochran.

So if you're looking for a lawyer without the high legal fees, the verdict is in.

John Biro, PrePaid Legal, says "We put an umbrella of coverage over their entire family."

At Prepaid Legal Services in Ft. Lauderdale, that umbrella covers everything from speedng tickets to business contracts.

Frank Kosa, PrePaid legal Client, says "I have lawyers available to me that are knowledgable in all areas of the law"

For a monthly fee of 26 dollars, Frank Kosa saved big bucks refinancing his home

"I said do you mind if my attornrey can take care of it b/c having prepaid legal that's a service also available, they called the bank, I saved 318 hundred dollars on the closing fee"

And Frank knows that's just the beginning.

He's not only paying for protection, he's paying for peace of mind.

He says "Anytime I have a legal question all I do is pickup the phone, call the law firm and they answer it for me."

But if you don't want to rely on a lawyer and you're a do it yourself kind of person, whose to say you can't be the next Perry Mason.

Just head out to your local book store and you'll find there are many books available to put your law skills to the test.

At the University of Miami, law students are already putting their skills to the test.

These future lawyers are getting the chance to represent foster care children on a number of issues.

Bernard Pearlmuter, UM Law Professor, says "ranging from where they will live to medical problems to school problems."

And get a load of this - they're lawyers doing it for free.

"They pay nothing, our services are provided free of charge"

But don't think no legal fees mean no legal experience.

These students are certified by the Florida Supreme Court.

"Every student get's a rigouros orientation and training and plenty of supervision. we are providing high quality legal services for our clients"

And that is a service for both the client and the attorney.

Marisol, UM Law Student, says "It feels good. but it feels better to see the client happy and that they feel somebody really cares for them."

If your intrested, PrePaid Legal covers almost everything except divorce and custody hearings.
