All The Best of South Florida

When it comes to superior seafood, lest face it, its easy to get hooked. But if you want to really wine and dine, then forget the bait and boat. Tonight, it's our viewers' turn to go fish. And they've reeled in the the Best of South Florida.

(WSVN) -- So you want today's catch of the day, well, you can't go wrong when it comes to seafood in South Florida.

"It's a Florida staple and here in Miami what other great food to have when you're here."

And what better place to have it then Our Third Choice - Monty's in Coconut Grove.

"It's not just a meal, its an experience."

An edible experience topped off by the all-you-can-eat stone crabs.

"This is a place to eat stone crabs because we serve them in the best manner that they can be served"

And best of all, they serve those crabs year round in an atmosphere like nowhere else.

"I think it makes everything taste better because you feel like you're out on the water, on a boat somewhere just enjoying yourself."

"It's more authentic and you feel like you're at home in Miami and you should be eating fish."

You won't find anything more authentic then Number Two on our list - The Original Islamorada Fish Company where it's all about location, location, location.

"It's outside and on the water."

Yes, this may look like a postcard for the keys

But the fresh taste is what sets it apart .

"We get as fresh as you can get, that's our catch phrase and its basically true."

Fresh quality with old fashion values.

After 55 years, there's nothing fishy about the way this place does business.

"These three boats all fish for our company here. They bring in stone crab, Florida lobster....all of our fish, our grouper, snapper, dolphin, and they bring it in daily."

"Meduim, select, large, jumbo, hmm which to choose. I'll give you one guess where Our Viewers Chose for The Best Seafood in all of South Florida. Add on the famous hash browns, the cole slaw, and top it off with the famous key lime pie and you know you are at Joe's."

That's right, we all know Joe's Famous Stone Crabs have become a South Florida institution.

Laurie: "And what makes the seafood specifically the best?"

"You can eat stone crabs anywhere in town, they just don't have the taste of joe's stone crabs, you can eat mustard sauce anywhere in town it just doesn't have the tanginess of Joe's mustard sauce. You can eat butter anywhere else in town and it just doesn't taste the same."

But it's not just about the stone crabs anymore. Joe's has bigger fish to fry.

"A massive piece of fish that is cooked to perfection everytime i eat, it's nice little seared and maybe it's a little sweet for people, but it's excellent."

And for the first time in a long time, it will be available year-round

"Were evolving and were really coming up with a neat menu for this summer."

That will of course include Joe's trademark style.

"Well, Joe's the combination is fabulous, you wanta great atmosphere, great service, welll dressed wait staff, and its fun, you see a lot of cool people."

"Joe's won Best Seafood. The bottomline its all about tradition. This is nothing new. This goes way back."
