Tell me how your family came about the recipe?
Barbara Wilson says, "My older sister lives in the panhandle and she had gotten a cook book from a church group or women's group up there and she had sent it to my sister who lives here in town and myself."
That's the history of the pie which Barbara starts by making her own pie crust.
1 package vanilla instant pudding mix
3/4 cup flour
3 tablespoons melted butter
8 oz. cream cheese
large can (29oz.) sliced peaches (drained)
3 tablespoons of reserved peach juice
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Mix ingredients for crust and pat into pie shell. Place well drained peach slices into crust. Soften cream cheese in the microwave. Mix in other filling ingredients. Pour filling over the center of the peaches, and spread within one inch of sides. Sprinkle topping onto filling and bake at 375 degrees until crust is browned. Chill and enjoy!
