The Dish: Lomo Saltado

Ingredients:

  • 1 piece thin steak
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 onion
  • 2 potatoes
  • 1 cup white rice
  • 1/2 cup minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup red vinegar
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1 tspn salt
  • 1 tspn pepper
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • salt
  • pepper
  • cilantro
  • hot pepper or chile peppers (if you want to make it spicy)

Directions:

-Cut the steak into thin pieces, once it's cut add some salt, pepper minced garlic and mix together.

-Cut the onions and tomatoes into small wedges and set aside.

-On a hot skillet add some vegetable oil and add the meat. Let it sautee for a few minutes and then add the tomatoes and onions. Once the onions, tomatoes and the meat are sauteeing, add the red vinegar, white wine and soy sauce. Let it cook and sautee. To make the dish spicy, add some hot pepper or chile pepper.

-Cut the potatoes in strips and fry them on a separate pan with olive oil. When they are ready set them on a plate with a side of white rice and serve the beef on top.
