We continue our month long series of dining in hotels. A pastry chef prepares a simple treat perfect with a cup of Joe. Time to grab a Bite with Belkys.

The Restaurant: Da Campo Osteria (inside the Il Lugano Hotel)
The Dish: Almond Biscotti
Ingredients:
10 oz. of butter
4.4 oz. of brown sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 Tbs. of almond extract
3 Tbs. of vanilla extract
3 oz. of all purpose flour
2 Tbs. of baking powder
2 Tbs. of salt
4 oz. of sliced almonds
Method of Preparation:
-Begin by making a dough. In a mixer, add butter, sugar, eggs, almond extract, vanilla extract and all purpose flour. While it's mixing, carefully toss in baking powder, salt and sliced almonds.
-Then, shape the dough into a log and let it bake for 20 to 30 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
-Next, let the biscotti cool slightly and slice it into small pieces. Place it on parchment paper in a sheet pan.
-Lastly, bake it one more time for about an hour in a 250 degree oven.
Serves: 25 slices (about 15 people)
