The Dish: Christmas Bowtie Cookies
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
1 pinch of salt
1 1/2 tsp of baking powder
2 eggs
2 egg yolk
1 tsp. of vanilla extract
1 cup of powdered sugar
6 cups of canola oil
Method of Preparation:
-Start by placing flour in the center of your food prepping surface. Then, add a pinch of salt, baking powder, two eggs, two egg yolks and vanilla extract.
-Now, start working the dough until a solid mass with elasticity is formed.
-Next, divide the dough into smaller portions.
-Sprinkle some flour on your work surface and roll out the dough to 1/8 of an inch thick. Using a pizza cutter, cut the dough into 3/4 inch wide strips or about 3 inches long.
-Then, tie the strips into knots and fry in hot oil until its a nice golden brown.
-Lastly, drain the cookies over paper towels, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
Serves: 3 dozen
