Barbecuing is a tradition on the Fourth of July. Here's how you can really add a "bang" to that boring burger. Time to Grab A Bite With Belkys.

The Dish: Not Yo Mamma's Burger
Ingredients:
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 onion chopped
- 1/2 red bell pepper chopped
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1 big pinch paprika
- 1 medium pinch garlic powder
- 1 medium pinch oregano, rosemary, basil, or thyme
- Salt and fresh ground pepper to taste
- 2 pounds lean ground beef (or ground turkey, chicken, pork, or a combo of each)
- Splash of beer
- Chopped lettuce
Directions:
1. Chop the lettuce
2. Slice the onion and tomato
3. Set the garnish to the side
4. De-seed the red pepper
5. Dice red onion and set to the side
6. In a food processor blend to a paste...
7. 2 cloves garlic
8. 1/2 red bell pepper chopped
9. 1/2 onion chopped
10. 1 medium pinch oregano, rosemary, basil, or thyme
11. 1 big pinch paprika
12. 1 medium pinch garlic powder
13. 1/2 cup olive oil
14. Salt and fresh ground pepper to taste
15. In a large bowl, mix well by hand in with the paste 2 pounds lean ground beef. (Note: Can substitute or combine with ground turkey, chicken, pork)
16. Splash of beer
17. Form into four to six hamburger patties
18. Place patties between wax paper, refrigerate at least 20 mins or overnight
19. Grill on medium high for two minutes on each side for medium rare, three for medium and four minutes on each side for done
20. Spice it up...Coat burger in your favorite buffalo sauce or teriyaki glaze
To Plate The Dish:
Serve on a fresh bun with the fixins' of your choice. I recommend shredded lettuce, tomato, onion, and a pickle. You can also serve the burger with fries.
