All Bite with Belkys

If you have a sweet tooth, we've got a recipe for you. A South Florida chef preparing a treat that begins with Oreos. Time to grab a sugar Bite with Belkys.

The Chef: Mike Jacobs

The Dish: Double Stuff Deep-Fried Oreos

Ingredients:

3 eggs
2 cups of milk
1/4 cup of sugar
3 cups of flour
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2 teaspoons of baking soda
2-3 cups of vegetable oil
1 package of Double Stuff Oreo cookies

Method of Preparation:

-Start by making the batter. First, crack three eggs into a bowl. Then, add two cups of milk. Chef Mike says any type of milk will work with this dish.

-Next, add sugar and whisk everything together.

-In a separate bowl, get some flour, a pinch of salt, baking soda and sift it all together.

-Then, slowly combine the flour mix with the eggs. Chef Mike says you want to avoid having any lumps in the batter.

-Cover the batter, and let it sit in the refrigerator for at least one hour.

-Now, move on to the Double Stuff Oreos. First, dip the cookies in the batter. Then, fry them in vegetable oil for about two minutes on each side or until they turn golden brown. Make sure to only fry about five cookies at a time.

-Lastly, transfer the Oreos onto a napkin to soak up the oil.

To Plate the Dish:

Start with a scoop of your favorite ice cream. Then place two cookies around the side. You can garnish with powdered sugar and some chocolate sauce.

Serving Suggestion: Sangria

Serves: 14
