Bite with Belkys: Macaroni & Cheese
Thanksgiving is a week away, and if your starting to plan your dishes for the big family feast, we have one that's sure to hit the spot. One local chef is showing us how to make his famous mac and cheese. Time to grab a Bite with Belkys.
The Chef: Joseph Mackillop
The Restaurant: Vinyl & Kai
The Dish: Macaroni & Cheese
2 cups of heavy cream
2 oz. of sharp cheddar cheese
2 oz. of yellow american cheese
2 oz. of white american cheese
8 oz. of your favorite cooked pasta
kosher salt, to taste
black pepper, to taste
2 oz. of garlic breadcrumbs
Method of Preparation:
-Start by warming up heavy cream in a hot pan. Then, add cheddar cheese, yellow american cheese and white american cheese. Make to continue stirring the cheese until its all melted together.
-Next, toss in cooked pasta, a pinch of salt and pepper and some garlic breadcrumbs. Stir this together.
-Now, Chef Joseph says you can add cooked protein if you wish. He recommends bacon, chicken or lobster.
-Lastly, add a little more breadcrumbs over the top and let it bake for a few minutes.
You can garnish this dish with paprika.
