Bite with Belkys: Grilled Beef Tenderloin

We're continuing our series onboard cruise ships. This next destination is on the "Norwegian Sky." Let's grab a Bite with Belkys .

The Dish: Grilled Beef Tenderloin

Ingredients for Potato Gratin:

4 oz. of butter combined with 3 oz of minced garlic
1 cup of milk
2 cups of heavy cream
1 tsp. of nutmeg
salt, to taste
8 oz. of blue cheese
black pepper, to taste
2 lb. of yukon gold potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
5 oz. of grated parmesan cheese

Method of Preparation:

-Start by coating a baking dish with a butter and garlic spread.

-Then, in a bowl combine heavy cream, milk, nutmeg, salt, blue cheese and ground black pepper. Next, add the sliced potatoes.

-Now, transfer the mixture to the baking pan and top it with grated parmesan cheese. Bake the potatoes in a 275 degree oven for about two hours or until its cooked through.

-Once the potatoes are ready, use a round cutter or a knife to serve.

Ingredients for Beef Tenderloin:

5 lb. beef tenderloin
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
2 oz. of olive oil

Method of Preparation:

-First, season the meat with salt and pepper. Then, pour a little olive oil on your grill and sear the filet on both sides.

-Finish cooking the beef in the oven. Chef Jason says to set the oven at 175 degrees and let the meat cook for about 45 minutes.

To Plate:

On the Norwegian Sky they first serve a portobello mushroom, then the beef tenderloin, baby carrots and the potato gratin. They finish it off with a nice green peppercorn sauce.
