Bite with Belkys: Ahi Tuna Tacos from Sushi Sobe inside the Loews Hotel

How about putting a spin on the same old tacos for dinner tonight? A South Florida chef is showing us how to add an asian touch. Time to grab a Bite with Belkys.

The Chef: Frederic Delaire
The Restaurant: Sushi SoBe inside the Loews Hotel
The Dish: Ahi Tuna Tacos

Ingredients:

8 oz. ahi tuna
1 red onion, diced
1 pinch of cajun seasoning
dash of salt
dash of pepper
Juice of 1 lemon
dash of extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup of mayonnaise
1 pinch of wasabi powder
6 tortilla shells (3 inch diameter)
1/2 iceberg lettuce, shredded
1 Tbs of black sesame seeds

Method of Preparation:

-Start by dicing the ahi tuna into small cubes. Then, do the same with a red onion.

-In a bowl, combine ahi tuna, red onion, cajun seasoning, salt, pepper, lemon juice and a touch of extra virgin olive oil.

-Next, mix regular mayonnaise with a pinch of wasabi powder. You can also use a wasabi paste or regular wasabi. Chef Frederic like to transfer the wasabi mayo to a squeeze bottle.

To Plate:

Start with a the tortilla shells. Then, add lettuce, ahi tuna, wasabi mayo and a little black sesame seeds to all.

Serving Suggestion: Watermelon Cocktail

Serves: 3
