Bite with Belkys: Pizza's from Spartico inside The Mayfair Hotel & Spa

All Bite with Belkys

Make your next family night a pizza night and there's no need to order in. A South Florida chef shows us how to prepare his must have recipe. Time to grab a Bite with Belkys.

The Restaurant: Spartico (at The Mayfair Hotel & Spa)
The Dish: Margherita Spartico & La Familia Pizza

Ingredients for Margherita Spartico:

9 oz. Pizza dough (12 inch)
3 oz of tomato sauce
1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella
5 slices of mozzarella fior di latte
2 Tbs of chopped basil

Method of Preparation:

-Begin by spreading tomato sauce over the pizza dough.

-Then, sprinkle on shredded mozzarella, slide the pizza onto a peel and place it in the oven. It will bake in a 475 degree oven for five to seven minutes or until its a nice golden brown.

-Next, add slices of mozzarella Fior di Latte and bake the pizza for another minute.

-Lastly, add a little bit of chopped basil.

Ingredients for La Familia:

9 oz. Pizza dough (12 inch)
3/4 cup of diced fresh mozzarella
8 figs, sliced
1 Tbs. of honey
10 slices of parmesan cheese
5 slices of proscuitto

Method of Preparation:

-Start by adding fresh diced mozzarella over the dough.

-Then, sprinkle on figs and drizzle honey over the top.

-Cook the pizza in a 475 degree oven for five to seven minutes or until its a nice golden brown.

-Next, top it with slices of parmesan cheese, more honey and proscuitto.

 Serving Suggestion: Beer

12 inch Pizza serves: 2-3
