Bite with Belkys: Shrimp Santorini from Taverna Opa
Good food and good times are the perfect recipe for lasting memories. A South Florida chef shows us how to celebrate with a traditional Greek dish. Time to Grab a Bite with Belkys.
The Chef: Peter Bovis
The Restaurant: Taverna Opa
The Dish: Shrimp Santorini
1/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp of garlic, blended
5 (u-8) shrimp, cleaned and deveined
salt, to taste
2 Tbs. of tomato, diced
1 Tbs. of lemon juice
1 Tbs. of chives
1/3 cup of feta cheese, crumbled
1/4 cup of white wine
Method of Preparation:
-Begin by sautéing blended garlic with a drizzle of olive oil.
-Then, toss in the shrimp, a pinch of salt, diced tomatoes and a squeeze of lemon juice. You can leave the lemon wedge in the pan.
-Next, add chives, crumbled feta cheese and white wine.
At the restaurant, they serve their traditional rice topped with the shrimp and the sauce.
