The Dish: Spicy Beef Salad
Ingredients:
1/4 lb. of slices of beef
1/2 tsp of sugar
6 mint leaves
2 oz. of scallion, chopped
2 oz. of red onion, chopped
2 oz. of cilantro, chopped
2 oz. of cucumber, chopped
2 oz. of tomato, chopped
1 oz. of lime juice
1 tsp of chili paste
Method of Preparation:
-Start by preparing the salad. In a bowl, combine sugar, mint, scallion, red onion, cilantro, cucumber, tomato, lime juice and chili paste.
-Then, cook the beef in a non-stick pan and toss into the salad bowl. Chef Wit says you can add a little salt for extra flavor.
To Plate:
First serve some veggies such as, napa cabbage, slices of tomato, slices of cucumber and celery. Then, serve the beef salad mix on top. You can garnish with a sprig of mint.
Serving Suggestion: Wending-Haiku (cocktail mix of plum wine and sake)
