All Bite with Belkys

A pizza joint that was a hot spot in the 90s is making a comeback in South Florida, and the chef is showing us how to make a dish that's a favorite with customers. Time to grab a Bite with Belkys.

The Chef & Owner: Tommy Pooch

The Restaurant: Pucci's Pizza

The Dish: Calzone

Ingredients:
7 oz. pizza dough
5 oz. ricotta cheese, shredded
2 oz. mozzarella cheese, shredded
5 oz. pecorino romano cheese, grated

Method of Preparation:
-Start with the dough. You can find dough in the frozen aisle of your local grocery store.

-Then, in the middle of the dough, add ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese and pecorino romano cheese. Chef Tommy says you can also add veggies, sausage or ham.

-Fold over the dough and roll up all the edges, so the cheese can not ooze out.

-Next, place the calzone on a baking sheet and brush it with a coat of beaten egg yolks.

-Bake the calzone in a 500 degree oven for five minutes or until its a nice golden brown.

Serving Suggestion: Cherry Coke

Serves: 2

Note:
Take a printed copy of the recipe to the restaurant and receive a complimentary soda. (valid one month after air date. Limit one per guest.)
