Bite with Belkys: Toston Burger from Pincho Factory

All Bite with Belkys

Sometimes you're in the mood for a good burger. A South Florida chef prepares his a special way that always has the customers coming back for more. Time to grab a Bite with Belkys.

The Chef: Nedal Ahmad
The Restaurant: Pincho Factory
The Dish: Toston Burger

Ingredients:

5 oz. of certified angus ground chuck
seasoning spice or salt and pepper
peanut oil, to deep fry
2 slices of muenster cheese
2 thin slices tomato
1 small piece of romaine lettuce
2 tostones (smashed green plantain)
1 Tbs. of cilantro infused mayonnaise
1 Tbs. of roasted garlic sauce
1 cup of french fries

Method of Preparation:

-Start by seasoning the ground meat with salt and pepper or your favorite seasoning. At the restaurant, they have their own secret spice mix. Then, form a meat patty.

-Next, add a drizzle of oil over a flat top grill or sauté pan and cook the burger.

-When its almost done, add a few slices of muenster cheese on top and let it melt.

-In the meantime, deep fry the tostones. Tostones are smashed green plantains. You can purchase them frozen ready to cook or make them from scratch.

To Plate:

Place the burger over a fried plantain and top it with sliced tomato and romaine lettuce. Chef Nedal also add his cilantro infused mayonnaise and a roasted garlic sauce. Finish the burger with another fried plantain slice and a side of french fries.
