Bite with Belkys: Frita from Cuban Guys
If you're craving a traditional Cuban sandwich, you're in luck. A new hot spot in South Florida bringing it back old school time to grab a Bite with Belkys.

The Restaurant: Cuban Guys
The Dish: Cuban Frita
2 lbs. of 90/10 lean ground beef
1/4 cup of garlic, pureed
1/4 cup of onion, pureed
2 Tbs. of ketchup
2 Tbs. of Cuban Guys Spice blend
1 Tbs. of paprika
2-3 Tbs. of vegetable oil
1/2 of an onion, diced
secret frita sauce, to drizzle over each pattie
16 cuban buns
butter, to spread on buns
fried potato sticks, to top the patties
Method of Preparation:
- At the restaurant, they first mix the meat with pureed garlic and onion, ketchup, a house spice blend and paprika.
-Then, roll the beef into medium sized meatballs and cook over a flat top grill with a little oil. Once the bottom of the meat turns to a golden brown, flip the pattie and give it a smash.
-Next, add a little diced onions over the top and a secret frita sauce. Make sure to cook the meat on both sides.
-Now, toast the cuban bread bun with a little butter.
Place the frita over the toasted bread and top it with fried potato sticks.
Serves: 16 patties
