Bite with Belkys: Massaman Shrimp Curry from Bonsai
Trying new food can be fun and tonight, Belkys is craving authentic Thai cuisine. Time to grab a Bite with Belkys.
The Restaurant: Bonsai
The Dish: Massaman Shrimp Curry
1/2 lb. of shrimp, peeled and deveined
8 oz. can of Thai coconut milk
1 Tbs of massaman (thai) curry paste
1/4 of a white onion, chopped
1/2 of a hass avocado, cut in small bite sized pieces
cashew nuts, to taste
salt, to taste
1 pinch of sugar
2 Tbs. of Thai fish sauce
1 pinch of cumin powder
1 pinch of dried chili powder (optional)
Method of Preparation:
-In a hot pan, over high heat pour in thai coconut milk and stir in massaman (thai) curry paste.
-Then, add white onion, shrimp, hass avocado and cashew nuts.
-Next, add a pinch of salt, sugar, fish sauce, cumin and dried chili. Mix it all together and serve immediately.
Serving Suggestion: White Wine
