Bite with Belkys: Thai Curried Mussels from TIKL Raw Bar & Grill
A restaurant on Brickell prepares portions for everyone to share. And even better, it's for a small price. Time to grab a Bite with Belkys.

The Dish: Thai Curried Mussels
2 lbs. of mussels
1 medium white onion, sliced
1 knob of fresh ginger, julienned
1 red bell pepper, julienned
1 Tbs of canola oil
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
1 can of Thai coconut milk
1 cup of fish sauce
1 Tbs of green Thai curry paste
1 stalk of lemon grass
Method of Preparation:
-In a hot pan, sauté sliced onion, ginger and red pepper with a little canola oil.
-Then, season with salt and pepper.
-Next, pour in Thai coconut milk and fish sauce.
-After, add green Thai curry paste. If you can not find it, you can use curry powder or dried chili instead.
-Now, toss in lemon grass and the mussels. Cover the pan and let it cook for about five minutes or until the mussels open.
Serve the mussels in a bowl with the sauce. You can garnish with chopped scallion, cilantro and lime.
