In South Florida, there may not be a change in seasons... But in Florida fashion, now is the time to show off your best resort/cruisewear. Shireen Sandoval shows us how in tonight's Fashion Forward.
(WSVN) -- The micro mini...
Mod...
And menswear for women... are among fall's hottest looks.
But now it's time to think Fashion Forward and resort or cruisewear.
Katharine Rubino of Neiman Marcus, says, "Somewhere in between fall and spring comes resort and that's sort of a prelude to spring."
Resort/cruise collections gives us a sneak peek at spring trends, which are still a month away from hitting stores.
"Back east, they sort of jet off to, on their cruises and hit the warm weather and need something to wear," says Rubino, "That's where it gets its name from, yeah."
St. John's cruise 2004 runway show was lined with lots of color and pretty prints.
Go head to toe in one of this season's floral dresses, or just pair the look with classic denim.
Brighten up your winter work-wear with a colorful suit... St. John sheds new light on bold blues, reds, and oranges.
The look is light and airy, but save the skin for the weekend.
"The look for resort and going into spring is all about color. Color, color, color and lots of it," adds Rubino.
At Neiman Marcus in Coral Gables, think citrus.
Colors like orange, green and yellow are very in.
Pair the citrus look with cropped pants or short shorts in crisp, cool white.
For a splash of color, wear something in a print, like this fun Chanel ice cream print dress.
"From flower prints, to graphics, from the tiniest rose buds to big blossoms on um, fabrics," says Rubino.
When it comes to shoes, there are no rules when you're wearing resort wear.
Strut your stuff in a pair of white shoes with a hint of color.
Or have fun in a pair of funky sandals.
Even if you're not setting sail on the love boat, in this season's easy breezy shoes and clothes, the spotlight will be on you.
"It's a time to relax and have fun and feel good," advises Rubino.
Spring fashion starts trickling into stores in February and March, till then cruise around in style.
