He's a young and up and coming designer whose making heads turn with his fashion designs. Shireen Sandoval introduces us to Zac Posen, as she takes us Fashion Forward.
(WSVN) -- He's only 23 years old, but he's already dressing a big number of "A" list celebrities -- Demi Moore, Halle Berry, Claire Danes and Natalie Portman to name a few.
Zac Posen -- remember the name -- he's making his mark in the fashion world.
"Our clothing is always about representing a strong, intelligent, feminine woman," says Zac.
Believe it or not, Zac started designing when he was just 16 years old.
Three years ago he opened his own company, and started his fashion empire.
He says his clothes set trends... not follows them.
"You sort of figure out what is the popular interest at the time and what are things that as an artist researching other art forms and design and silhouette and form and shape, what you want to bring to each season," he explains.
It may be spring, but like the rest of the big name design houses, Zac's showing off his fall 2004 collection. He recently made his first South Florida visit, and stopped in for a runway show at Neiman Marcus at the Village of Merrick Park.
"It is a fall collection, but I think there are plenty of pieces that would be, that are, very geared that would be really wonderful and exciting for the Miami woman," says Zac.
As for spring... Zac says it's all about color... Pinks and bright greens are among his favorites.
His collection is about feminine looks.
His suggestion for a must have this season?
"Something that the Zac Posen line has prevailed on is dresses and I think it's prevailing in this season, it's really a major force this season," he says. "It's a celebration of femininity and mystery... and all the things that go along with great women, and confidence."
Zac says the one celebrity he knows wears his clothes but he hasn't met yet is pretty woman Julia Roberts.
