Fashion Forward: D-Squared
Their clothing line is popping up all over the place. Two of the hottest designers are joining forces to make the fashion world see double. Here's Jackie Johnson with tonight's Fashion Forward.
(WSVN) -- There's nothing square about Dan and Dean Caten of the D-squared design team.
They are hot, hip, and taking center stage with their 2004 spring/summer styles.
"We like to describe it as uncontrived cool, Accidentally chic," says the duo.
The dynamic duo is no stranger to the fashion world, just ask Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, and Lenny Kravitz.
The twin team says they double their fans by keeping their styles real.
"If we wouldn't wear it, then it doesn't go into the collection," they say.
And what they're wearing now is a 1950s inspired style... with an edge.
Their newest line has got rebel written all over it.
The designers say, "Kind of the bad girls of the '50s, the biker chicks, the killer kittens as we call them, they were tough, and it wasn't your typical Dorris Day."
And for the guys it's not your typical James Dean look.
D-squared recently made an appearance at Saks Fifth Avenue in Bal Harbor to show off their new look.
"The guys too, we put them in biker jackets but then we put them in glasses that were like studious, so they had that little edge."
"He feels like he's wearing the clothes not that the clothes are wearing him, he doesn't feel like he's wearing a costume."
Think bright colors and funky designs... but overall comfort is key.
"Summer, we're thinking about beach, we're thinking about hot our overall theme is really relaxed, uncontrived, cool."
"Our thing is not to go all the way, just kind of give a taste."
A taste of star style for everyone.
"We love to see celebrities in our clothes, but we really, honestly love to see anybody looking great in our clothes."
And if you'd love to see yourself in the clothes, get the look...
