Fashion Forward: Summer Swimsuits
If you want to make a splash around the pool, the proper swimwear is essential. And we're not just talking about bikinis. With right bathing suit, any girl can be swimming in attention. Here's 7's Shireen Sandoval with the latest in tonight's Fashion Forward.
(WSVN) -- They're sexy, sporty and a must have for summertime.
Suzette Curry from Swim N' Sport: The trend probably for south florida is more bare.
At Swim N' Sport, two piece, backless, and bright colors are big this season.
Suzette: "It's like a flashback to the 80s, so there's like lime and bright pink fuschia but they're mixing it back with more earth tone colors so that it's not over the top."
But less isn't always best... Cover ups are in.
Also in style, monokinis and one piece bathing suits.
Suzette: "It makes wearing the one piece not so like your mother's swimsuit, you can make one pieces more fashionable now."
A line of lingerie inspired the beauty suits at Eberjey's.
Mariela Rovito from Eberjey: We basically just transferred that comfort and fit into our swimwear."
Now celebrities like J-Lo, Pamela Anderson and Liv Tyler wear their sexy swimwear.
Mariela: "We did a lot of brights for the summer, and a lot of dots and stripes and just really fun vibrant colors."
The bathing suits at Gypsy Swimwear are also sizzling this summer.
Sheila Tracy from Gypsy Swimwear: "I would say 3 words for gypsy swimwear, fresh fun and unique. It's comfort and it's fit, and i dont fit neccessarily for the model type, i fit for just an average girl."
Here, what's old is new again with 50's and 60's inspired suits.
Take a dip in the pool in some bold polka dots, or hit the beach in a paisley print.
Whatever you choose, make sure you love it.
Sheila: "You want to feel good, and you want to feel like you know what, i look good in this swimsuit."
At gypsy you'll get more for your money -- they have a line of reversible swimsuits.
