Fashion Forward: Linen
Summer's officially here and so are the hottest temperatures of the year. But since you can't walk around in a bathing suit all day, why not try one of this season's most breathable fabrics... Linen. Shireen Sandoval takes us Fashion Forward.
(WSVN) -- Staying cool is hard in the summer time, but this season, don't let them see you sweat, by wearing something made of linen.
The fabric's lighter then cotton, and can be worn with just about anything.
Evelyn Godoy from Bebe: "Linen, it just looks great all the time. It's very easy to wear and very light."
Bebe's got the latest in linen. Head to the office in a linen suit.
Here you can find it in white or basic black.
And it's easy to take the look from day to night, just by removing your jacket.
Evelyn: "I think linen is okay head to toe. The nice thing about linen is that you can also wear it with a different style fabric."
Try a linen, ruffled mini skirt with a sleeveless top.
Or go casual in a pair of colorful capris.
Evelyn: "The nice thing about linen also is that even if it gets wrinkled, it still looks great."
At En Avance on South beach, linen is a hot seller.
Karen Quinones from En Avance: "It always is great for summer, especially in Miami cause it's so hot."
Pick up a pretty pastel dress with lace details and pair it up with flip flops for day, or some sexy high heels for night.
Go for a linen top or a pair of pants.
Whatever you choose -- you're sure to look great in this no fuss fabric.
Karen: "Linen is great because you can throw it in the washing machine in cold water, hang it out, shake it out, you don't have to, and it comes out perfect. Just a little bit of wrinkle but it just gives it a little character."
So whether you pair your linen up with jeans or use it as a swimsuit cover up, linen may be great for summer, but you can even use it through fall.
Karen: "These pieces can go from season to season, especially in South Florida where you can wear linen almost throughout the year here."
Don't worry about ironing your linen, wrinkles are part of the look.
