(WSVN) -- Jackie "O" made them popular in the 60's.

So too did Audrey Hepburn.

But that was then, this is now...Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton and Jennifer Aniston have the look. This season, their fashion forward by stepping back in time with some chic shades.

Helena Ulloa, I.Designs Eyewear Boutique: "Everything that is coming in is really really large. We are talking Jackie O type glasses."

At I.Designs in Coral Cables, bug eyes are the buzz. Designers like Channel, Prada and Armani are going bolder and bigger this season.

Helena - the store's owner - says if you want to make a statement, don't be afraid to be dramatic and ditch last season's light and rimless frames.

Helena: "A lot of chunky plastics and um, the look has changed completely, the lenses are a lot darker."

But size isn't the only thing to consider when buying fashion savy sunglasses. Bright bold colors are making thier way this summer too.

Helena: "This year it's a lot of color. A lot more than ever. It's not just limited to black and brown and tortoise. We are seeing Mango, shocking blues and some are coming in rose."

At Sunglass Hut, new sunglass styles are a blast from the past. This season's shades are from the era of bell bottoms and beyond.

Ralph Ramirez, Sunglass Hut Store Manager: "Right now its almost in the like the 70's kind of trend again with aviators and the big frames."

Ray-Ban's got the aviator look. Or go bigger and more colorful. Throw them on top of your head as a headband, or keep them on to add some spark to a nighttime look.

These days, sunglasses aren't just for the beach.

Ralph: "It's a good accessory to have. sunglasses will finish the outfit."

Also look for shades with a lot of bling - diamonds all around the frame or just on the side are big this season too.
