Every student in South Florida unfortunately knows it's coming. Homework, tests, quizzes are just a few days away. But if you want to know what's cool on campus, you're not alone. The nighteam's Shireen Sandoval shows us some A-plus styles in tonight's Fashion Forward.
(WSVN) -- Are dress codes not sounding so hot?
Well what about mini skirts, layered tee's and chic sneaks?
This season, there's plenty to get excited about at Teen Angel in Hollywood.
Melody Rodriguez, Teen Angel: "A lot of the biggest trends for back to school right now are definitely pleated skirts, a lot of ponchos are being worn and layering."
But if you really want to make the grade when it comes to this season's fashion trends...Focus on your history cause this year, vintage is back in a big way.
Melody: "Vintage is actually very strong as well. A lot of things are coming in vintage, like certain brands that we carry we're noticing are more distressed."
And you won't have to worry about breaking the rules. Skin is out and classic is in.
Melody: "We have the button down polos and a lot of that. It shows individuality but it still adheres to the dress code."
At EPK KidSmart in Dadeland, fun fashions aren't just for the big kids.
Here, if your little one want to get to the head of the class, mix and match is the name of the game.
Aline Benchimol from EPK KidSmart: "You don't want to be too conservative or too classic, you need to throw in some hippy chic."
Add a pair of bell bottoms to a funky top or throw on a hat to get that 70's style. Sassy and classy, or comfy and casual
This season it's also all about color.
Aline: "The biggest thing is color. You are going to see royal blue. You are going to see some pinks and white and feminine clothing."
And who says it's just girls who get to have all the back to school fashion fun? Boys, arm yourself for teachers and homework with camouflage and lots of layers.
Aline: "We are going to see shirts on top of shirts, different colors, usually dark. We are still working with blues and greens."
Also in this season? Metalic shoes. Grab a pair to spice up your school wardrobe.
