Fashion Forward: Brooches

WSVN -- Big, bold, and brooched. At C. Madeleine's in North Miami Beach, they say these old fashioned pins take on a new twist.

Madeline Kirsh from C. Madeleine's: "The Jewelry is brooches. Broaches everywhere."

But brooches aren't making their debut out of nowhere, they have royal roots.

Queen Elizabeth of England got a diamond and sapphire pin as a present from Queen Victoria.

Madeline Kirsh: "They made them for aristocrats to begin with many years ago."

But if these classy charms seem outdated, don't be fooled.

This fall, it's all about brooches gone wild!

Madeline Kirsh: "Everything today is either going wild and jumbo and very very elaboate looking or you can do something like I am doing today."

And lucky for us. You don't need to lead the lifestyle of the rich and famous to afford one. Brooches come in all different stones and prices.

Madeline Kirsh: "You are seeing everything from actual real diamond brooches to costume jewelry, so the great part is that anyone can afford a broach."

At Neiman Marcus, they say the problem wont be affording one. It will be picking one out.

Katherine Rubino from Neiman Marcus: "You can wear it day to night. You can wear it during the day on your jeans, on your jacket, on your lapel, wherever you want to wear it. And it's also going to evening."

But the most important thing to remember when wearing a broach is to just have fun.

Katherine Rubino: "It's a really fun accessory and really there is no bad or wrong way to wear the broach anymore."

Brooches aren't just in rhinestones anymore. You can find them in funky plastics for a more modern look too.
