Ladies, if you want to know what's hot in 2005, think floral and feminine. In tonight's fashion forward, Shireen Sandoval has a recap of what's turning heads on the runway.

WSVN -- Let's be honest, how many more ponchos and brooches can we wear? It's time to plunge into the New Year with some fresh new trends.

And nobody revamps their look like top fashion designer Betsy Johnson.

Fashion Consultant Abu Kwawu: "Last season she was so punk and it almost reminded you of Cindy Lauper, she's put a lot of girlishness into it and toned it down."

For Spring 2005, it's all about girlish glamour. Flowing in floral you'll feel oh so feminine and flirty. From budding hemlines to fabrics that are in full bloom, it's one of the hottest trends for spring.

Abu Kwawu: "It's not Laura Ashley or you mother's floral print but very very sexy, beautiful and Miami."

Think of it as prim and proper with kick. From daytime skirts to cocktail dresses, it's the perfect combination of sassy and sweet.

Abu Kwawu: "I think the ladies are just gonna love being a lady again."

But if you're not ready to go so bold, take it from fashion designer Nicole Miller and try sticking with sequins.

Fashion Designer Nicole Miller: "There is a lot of decoration and a lot of stones and a lot of embellishment in this line."

Spiced with sparkles, Miller pairs Celtic symbols with funky denim in lots of sexy spring colors.

Nicole Miller: "There is a lot of peach and aqua and pale yellows, brighter pastels which is very Miami."

And while some say the mini skirt is so passe, Miller says don't be afraid to sport short.

Nicole Miller: "I think everyone is happy wearing their miniskirt so nobody is gonna say I am just not going to wear this anymore. We are focusing on individuality, everyone creating their own sense of style."

Some of these trends do overlap with last year's. But one thing that's definitely out is really low-rise jeans. The higher waste is coming back.
