Now that March is here, it's time to update your wardrobe for spring. But before you hit the mall, the secret is to feel sexy with a feminie flair. 7's Shireen Sandoval shows us how in tonight's Fashion Forward.
WSVN--It played peek-a-boo all over the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
This spring, if you want to feel feminine, it's all about lace, crochet or eyelets.. and we're not talking about the kind you find on doilies.
Monica Martinez: "It's going to be a lot of knits, a lot of crochet, very feminine detailing of lace."
At Studio LX in South Mmiami, you can find everything from dresses to pants.
But it's not just for special occassions... Now, you can pull off the look anytime of day.
Monica Martinez: "You can wear it during the day you know with some easy flip-flops and some casual pants and you can dress it up at night with some nice heels and a great handbag."
Try this beautiful blue dress with a lace inset.
Or go army in these cargo camouflauge crop pants with an eyelet detail.
Monica Martinez: "It's a great trend for South Florida because it is light and you know its not too heavy and your not going to be uncomfortable in it."
You can definitely find the feminine touch at Neiman Marcus in Coral Gables.
Here, it's also all about lace.
Katharine Rubino: "Lace a really big trend for the season and its not your grandmothers lace anymore. It's new, it's updated, it's very trendy for the season, very sexy."
Even designers like Diane Von Furstenberg and St. John are pairing lace with satin.
At the house of Chanel, this victorian cotton and lace detailed top is perfect with a pair of jeans.
Katharine Rubino: "You're seeing head to toe lace, but you're also seeing lace detailing that you can pair with jeans, with crop pants, anything to update your look for spring."
And don't forget to add a piece of crochet to your wardrobe.
Pair a sweater with short shorts... Or wear yours with the latest pair of skinny jeans. Either way, grandma would be proud.
Katharine Rubino: "It's like even a trend that you've worn ten years ago thats now coming back."
Shireen Sandoval: "Wearing too much crochet is a no-no, try to mix and match. Want the look? Log onto our website at wsvn.com."
