Fashion Forward: Gold
From earrings to wedding rings, gold jewelry has never been out of style. But this summer, fashion designers are also going for the gold. Seven's Shireen Sandoval shows us how to get the look in tonight's Fashion Forward.
WSVN--Look close enough and you'll see it...
From gold skirts to gold detail on tunics, top name designers are giddy about gold.
Recently, I dropped into the hip new boutique Jasmine Sola at the Aventura Mall, where the gold rush is definitely on.
Shireen Sandoval: "Gold is really in. Tell me about the different types of accessories or clothes that you have?"
Liza Baird: "Gold, it's been around for a while, like the trend of gold starting moving forward for summer it's actually going more subtle, it's actually being woven into clothes."
In the past, it was okay to show off your gold.
But this season, you don't want to wear it from head to toe. Even Austin Powers wouldn't approve.
Liza Baird: "You can pair it, obviously with white it looks the best, but it should just be just one accent just to make a statement with gold instead of doing yourself all out in gold."
So go for a splash of gold foil on a T-shirt.
Look for a hint of it on the back of your jean pockets.
Or wear it woven into a shirt -- it's a look you can pull off anytime of day.
Liza Baird: "Yes, you could do a day look, you could do white cargo shorts with a gold Lurex tank top and then you could change the outfit to do white straight leg jeans with a dressy gold tank top for night with a pair of wedges."
All that glitters is gold at Caroline Dadlani on South Beach.
Inside this hidden oasis, you'll feel like you've found a gold mine.
Lisa Maison Reilly: "It's a classic trend that comes in and out, but certainly it's um you see it in a lot of the fashion forward pieces coming out right now."
Make sure your little black dress has some gold in it.
Or pair a gold accented shirt with white pants.
This season, it's all about the details.
Lisa Maison Reilly: "You see a lot of detailed embroidery, gold foil, um beading, sequins, a lot in the jewelry."
Speaking of jewelry, that's what Caroline Dadlani is known for, her precious pieces of art.
Lisa Maison Reilly: "A lot of the jewelry is designed by Caroline. She uses 22 carat gold precious and semi precious stones."
Gold purses, scarves and shoes, are also must have accessories.
