It's hard to believe school starts in just over two weeks. But before the bell even rings, it's important your student gets a passing grade from his peers. In tonight's Fashion Forward, 7's Shireen Sandoval shows us how to look cool on campus.
WSVN--It's the first lesson for students this year.
If you want to look cool in school, you have to know what to wear and where to shop.
At chocolate milk in North Miami, you'll go looking like a class act by following the latest trends.
Lina Perez: "How would you describe kids' fashions now? Lina: Oh definitely. Casual, comfy, you know just a little bit edgy."
The season's top trend - rocker style.
Boys, try a graphic print tee over a pair of cargo jeans.
And girls, go glam in a rock star tank with a trendy denim skirt.
Lina Perez: "Rock is very in whether it's boys or girls but the boys are great. Um, they're wearing a lot of cargo, they're wearing a lot of tees with personality and little bit of funk."
And as it turns out, personality and funk is exectly what this store specializes in.
Shireen Sandoval: "So tell me a little bit about the story behind the name of the store, Chocolate Milk."
Lina Perez: "Well, I'm the chocolate. Victoria: And I'm the milk."
Shireen Sandoval: "Do you serve chocolate milk? Cause I need a glass."
But forget something to drink, if your child has an appetite for apparel, just about everything's here.
From long sleeved dress shirts to ruched skirts, it's easy for your student to standout.
Victoria Vasile: "They're doing um, very modern and stylish fabrics. Very sophisticated fabrics now in children's clothing."
Now if you want to pass the test on the latest trends, head to Le Petit Choux on Bay Harbour Island.
It carries everything from silk ruffled tees to cargo mini skirts.
Tania Levy "We can mix silk and uh cotton and it's all in the detail of the cut. Some are pointy, some are uh ruffles, fringes, uh, mix and match colors and styles."
Or mix and match fabrics like crochet and curdoroy.
This year, cargo shorts are big back to school sellers.
So are pairing jeans with graphic tees.
Just make sure whatever you choose, it reflects your kids style.
Tania Levy: "They have to feel good in them, it has to bring out their uh liking in sports or in their lifestyle."
Shireen Sandoval: "Many schools require uniforms, you can always jazz up that look by accessorizing."
